The UCLA Lacrosse team held their annual team banquet on May 14 at the Strauss Clubhouse of LA Tennis Center. The Bruin Coaching Staff handed out awards in recognition of several individuals and their exceptional contributions during the 2008 season.

Freshman midfielder Darren Lepere (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny HS) earned Rookie of the Year honors.

Benji Rosen (Beverly Hills, CA/Beverly Hills HS), another freshman midfielder, was recognized as the UCLA's Most Improved Player.

Senior captain and defender Matt Shelton (Palo Alto, CA/Palo Alto HS) snagged the Defensive MVP award.

The awards for Team MVP and Offensive MVP went to senior captain and midfielder Jonathan Yip (San Diego, CA/University of San Diego HS).

Congratulations to the award winners!

UCLA Lacrosse captain, Shane Robinson, has been selected to the 2008 WCLL Div I All-Conference team.  Robinson was named 3rd team LSM/Specialist.

The UCLA Women's Lacrosse Team has earned the #9 seed in the 2008 US Lacrosse WDIA National Championship.  Congrats to the Lady Bruins!
